Crown and Jewel. 2nd Edition. In her second medieval fantasy novel that follows The Bridge, Jeri Massi continues the history of the tiny island kingdom of Bracken. Rosewyn is the young princess, and unlike her quiet and gentle mother, Rosewyn is forever climbing trees and drain spouts, knocking down boys who bully her, and getting into trouble. Ready for adventure of any kind, she stumbles into a secret plot against her father’s crown. With help from her beautiful, powerful grandmother, she escapes from the castle and begins her adventures in exile. The young princess finds refuge in a village of miners, where the glad-hearted Crog becomes her protector. But a new threat from assassins forces the princess to flee again. All of her courage is put to the test as she fights to save her family and her kingdom.
Jennifer: I HIGHLY recommend this series to any young reader. Or any adult (like myself) that loves charming engaging books. This is a quick read of only 154 pages, but a deep story. And is in no way childish.
A Customer. When I was a kid, I went to a private school with a tiny little library. Once I was poking around the back shelves when I found this book! I read it and loved it.
Leah Allen. I enjoyed this book very much when I was a child and purchased it to read to my children in the hopes they would enjoy it has much as I did. They loved it! It was fun having them asking when we would start reading our book before bedtime and having to get after my oldest who would get it and read ahead! I highly recommend these books. My children at the time we were reading were 8, 6 and 3 but even with some of the older language used in the book they were able to follow the story well, my 6 year old said it was the best book we had ever read!
Barb Mills. Favored by my children growing up and now want more copies for their families.
